The Candy Shorts series we said don’t exist: a correction

Earlier we claimed three of the four most-searched titles were not on the platform. We were wrong: all four exist. What went wrong, and where each sits.

Posted · revised

Four Candy Shorts titles account for most of the searches that bring people to this site. On 10 September we looked them up, and our report said that three of them did not exist.

We got it wrong. All four titles exist, and they existed when we checked: our search method was at fault, not the catalogue. This is the correction. How the mistake happened is more useful than the fix, since you will hit the same wall if you look for these titles yourself.

The correction

On 25 September 2026 we ran the check again. This time the full catalogue grid was loaded and titles were matched, instead of addresses being guessed:

TitleOur claimThe factsEpisodes
Mona's Worst EnemyDoes not existExists, listed under mona-newman15
Roxy's Wet WeekendReal, though not listedExists, listed under roxy-s-wet-weekend5
Caught Between SistersDoes not existExists, listed under emilia-vermont15
Stepsis SummerDoes not existExists, listed under brooklyn-ashford5

Where each of the four is filed

  • Mona’s Worst Enemy gets the most searches of the four. With fifteen episodes it ranks among the longest series available, and it sits under the character’s name, Mona Newman, instead of its title.
  • Caught Between Sisters also runs to fifteen episodes and is listed under Emilia Vermont.
  • Stepsister Summer has five episodes and is listed under Brooklyn Ashford. People often search for it as “Stepsis Summer”. Do not confuse it with Your New Stepsister, a different series that exists too and is filed under yet another name.
  • Roxy’s Wet Weekend has five episodes. Here we were half right. Early in September the series was indeed missing from the browsable grid, and it has since returned.

How the mistake happened

We built addresses out of titles. Mona’s Worst Enemy became mona-s-worst-enemy, that address returned nothing, so the series went into our notes as missing. We repeated this for all four titles, and it produced a false negative three times.

The method was weak, and it broke down the way weak methods usually do: without any noise, and with a confident answer. Looking for the title inside the catalogue would have found all three in under a minute. We have also added a warning to the top of our catalogue file, so whoever works on it next (quite possibly us) does not repeat the error.

This is a public account rather than a silent edit of the old page. The original claim was the sort of thing this site exists to get right: a page that says a series does not exist has to be correct, and when it is wrong it does more harm than no page.

Why titles are so hard to find

A large share of the series on the platform sit under the lead character’s name rather than the title shown on the card. Take Caught Between Sisters: its address is built from a person’s name, and nothing on screen mentions it.

Within the product this is irrelevant, as you only click a card. It becomes a problem when you arrive from outside, through a search engine, a forum link or a friend’s tip. That is also why so many sites state with confidence that these titles are missing, removed or fake.

There was a second trap. Five of the original 24 have vanished from the candyshorts.com grid, though nobody took them down. They are tagged Spicy on the platform, and that grid lists no Spicy series whatsoever. Inside candy.ai they are still there, behind a tag that only helps if you already know it exists.

So a series can be missing from the place you check while remaining in the product. It is the character-name lesson over again, wearing different clothes. The catalogue also moves fast, from 24 to 108 in twelve days and 115 by 25 September 2026. Both points are covered in a separate article.

How to find a series

There is no search box in the product, so this is the dependable route:

  1. Load the catalogue grid and give it time to finish: it has become long.
  2. Run a find-on-page search in your browser for the title. It beats guessing an address.
  3. Nothing found? Search for the character’s name instead; half of the newer series are filed under it.
  4. Still empty? It may really be gone. The platform never announces removals, and there is no archive to consult.

One thing holds regardless: if a title leaves the catalogue, a page that offers it for download is not handing out official material. That topic has a page of its own.
